After all, along with the remains of cosmetics, dust and dirt remain on the brushes, and harmful bacteria can begin to develop in the remains of wet products. This can lead to rashes and skin irritation.

That's why it's so important to know how to clean your makeup brushes. In this article, we'll cover three basic steps to taking care of your tools. Knowing these rules and purchasing a special brush cleaner will make taking care of them much easier.

Regularity. Regular cleaning will maximize the life of your brushes and protect you from skin problems. The frequency of cleaning will vary depending on how often and for what type of cosmetics you use the brushes. Foundation and lipstick brushes need daily cleaning; dry cosmetics – blush, powder, eyeshadow – once a week or two. For quick and successful cleaning, you can use brush cleaning wipes. This is a good option for daily care, as it will help keep the brushes from “balding”.

Care and cleaning. The choice of cleaning products for your brushes is of great importance. Natural bristle brushes need to be gentle: never use alcohol-based products, as this will dry out and damage the bristles. It is better to use a special brush cleaner. You can simply buy a makeup brush cleaner spray and follow the instructions: spray the product on the brush, wait a few seconds for the active ingredients to take effect. Clean the brush with a cotton pad or tissue and wait until it dries completely. This product gently cleans the brushes and does not require drying. However, for synthetic bristles, something more harsh may be needed - in this case, use regular soap and rub it in circular motions to clean, then rinse thoroughly.

Drying and storage. But to use this cleaning method, it is important to know about the correct drying of brushes. In no case should you dry brushes with a hairdryer or near a heater - this will only ruin the pile. Use a brush cleaning mat - it is suitable not only for effective washing of pigment, but also for drying. It is better to use covers for storing brushes, as this will protect them from unnecessary contamination.
